On a wet and chilly Tuesday evening Lanreath made the journey to Saltash with just 11 players.
The game was played at a fairly fast pace with little time on the ball. About 30 minutes into the game a strong through ball was played in behind the defence with the keeper out on the edge of his box. His 50-50 challenge with Jonny Collins was lost as the ball was tucked away.
The second half was played positively by both sides with Lanreath producing a constant threat in the final third. Jim Moynan's through ball was handled by the Saltash defender and produced a penalty which Andy Collins tucked away.
Saltash were not about to give up and they pushed forward creating a couple of corners, the second of which was a deflected shot off Andy Collins toe which keeper Rodney Stokes palmed away from the top corner in athletic style.
However Saltash scored from the corner. Suddendly the game was seen in a different dimension at 2-1 and win not quite as secure.
But conceding a goal gave the visitors that extra sparkle as a handful of chances cropped up. With 15 minutes remaining Lanreath forced a third through Matt Julian. Victory puts Lanreath in a strong position near the top of the table.
