A weakened Callington side which also included a number of walking wounded were made to pay for missed chances early on as they fell to a four goal burst from the pacy Jon Collins on Saturday.

Both sides started at breakneck speed and both could have been ahead before Collins got his first after five minutes. The strong attacker jumped higher than the Town defence then out paced his opponents before sliding the ball past Paul Blatchford in the Callington goal for the opener.

But Town were soon level when Chris Truscott was on hand to tap a loose ball home after a bit of goal mouth ping pong on 10 minutes. But the lead was short lived as yet again, Collins out stripped the Cailington defence before beating Blatchford.

Paul Fletcher replaced the injured Town Player Manager in goal on 25 minutes and shortly afterwards brought on Martin Nicholls for the out of sorts Adam Reid but this did not stem the tide as Collins added a third after the break.

Callington played a lot better after this and could have closed the gap with new boy Stuart Taylor, Truscott, Darran Barford and Jason Gregory all going close. Indeed Taylor was only denied by the woodwork after a great move involving Jury and Barford.

But, with Town pressing, Lanreath were always looking dangerous on the counter and this proved to be the case on 65 minutes when a cross eluded the Callington defence and keeper but Collins was on hand to fire home his fourth.

Nicholls briefly threatened a come back for the visitors 10 minutes from the end but they could not find another way through as Lanreath held on for an important victory.
