The Lantoom Park club entertained their rivals from the heart of clay country and came out in a positive mood. They pushed the visitors back deep into their own area and threatened to score on a number of occasions, Jeremy Rendle hit the woodwork and a couple of chances were cleared off the line.
It took 20 minutes to break down the resolute defence when a well hit corner was driven home by Mark Fielder after a goalmouth scramble. 10 minutes later Stewart Dunn was on the end of a well placed pass from Andros Andreas who had beaten a number of players before playing the telling through-ball.
His first time strike across goal found the far corner of the net to extend the lead. Just after the break a fluent move was finished off by goal machine Simon Fisher whose first time volley broke the net to make it three. Dobwalls continued to press forward and another good move saw Glen Toms finish with cool precision with his effort easily beating the keeper. On the hour Johnny Niblett was on hand to head home to score number five.
The game became scrappy with the home side taking their foot off the pedal and although they created chances the final pass always seemed just short or hard to capitalise. Newmoor, who showed a lot of grit, pulled a goal back through Derek Truscott who reduced the deficit near the end. The home side did enough to secure the points to keep their championship hopes alive and a number of players excelled, but it was an industrious display from Andros Andreas that won the man of the match award.
