This local derby produced what can only be described as a scrappy affair with neither side producing any consistency.
However the visitors did put some useful moves together and created a number of chances. Good work by Johnny Niblett found Martin Polatch and his cross was converted by Stewart Dunn at the near post. A minute later Polatch was again the provider laying on Glen Toms whose accurate strike found the target. Although both sides created further chances the score remained the same at the break.
The second half was again very competitive with the play switching from end to end, Johnny Niblett sealed the result halfway through the second spell with a thunderbolt of a shot from 35 yards that dipped just under the bar with the keeper who appeared to have it covered beaten by the sheer power of the effort. Neil Horsley scored a consolation late on with a well hit free kick from just outside the penalty box. This result means that Dobwalls now move into the semi final of the competition that they won last season.
For Dobwalls there was a welcome return for Andy Hill who has missed a number of games because of injury, and despite the lack of match practice he grafted for the full 90 minutes. The man of the match award was shared between Johnny Niblett and Stewart Dunn who both excelled and couldn't be seperated by the adjudicators. The team were sponsored by Jefferys Estate Agents.
