Due to heavy rain Gunnislake pitch was deemed unplayable but with Chillaton offering the availability of their pitch this fixture was switched at the last minute.

Chillaton started the match the brighter and came closest when they produced an effort which struck an upright. However with conditions in their favour Gunnislake shaded the remainder of the first half and reached the break one-up. The goal was scored by Lee Underwood who beat the opposing keeper to an Andy Wakem cross to head home.

Chillaton had the advantage of the elements in the second period and having equalised they made the majority of the running which culminated in them taking the lead on 75 minutes. This sparked a somewhat lethargic Gunnislake side into action and five mins later an equalising goal was scored when Gary Underwood showed excellent technique to volley home.

With a winner having to be found the match went into extra time. Play was equally contested in this period. The decisive fifth goal came with 10 minutes remaining when Chillaton broke from the edge of their penalty area to turn defence into attack which saw the ball nestle in the back of the Gunnislake goal.

Gunnislake play yet another cup fixture this weekend when they entertain rivals Calstock in the second round of the Cornwall Junior Cup (2.30).
