Pelynt saved their worst performance of the season until the last match of the season, against a well-organised Roche outfit. However, there were few signs of the goal-feast that was to come in a tight and competitive opening 25 minutes, but a rout of four goals in five minutes effectively killed the game.
The Pelynt defence was exposed in an awful spell and their failure to deal with a series of crosses led to the home side's four goal burst with Rob Waters in the Pelynt goal powerless to prevent the freefall.
Apathy reigned for much of the second half but Roche continued to dominate against a weakened Pelynt side and they were able to score at regular intervals. The visitors did at least salvage something resembling pride with a couple of late goals through player/manager Norman Thomas and Robbie Petrie, but this was definitely a game for Pelynt to forget.
