This was a dour game but of greater concern to Pelynt was the loss of another experienced striker through serious injury. This time it is Robbie Petrie whose season has ended prematurely. having suffered a broken ankle. The club wish him a ftill and speedy recovery.
This is a major blow for Pelynt whose campaign had started so promisingly but now they will have to succeed without a strike pairing that has bagged so many goals over the years. However they still have the services of last season,s top scorer, Eddie Johns Johns as well as Ryan, a recent signing.
Neither side secmed capable of stringing passes together on a difficult surface although there was a distinct lack of ideas and excitement, which left the spectators quipping about a refund of the entrance fee, had there been one!
Not surprisingly, the first half ended goal-less but the visitors took the lead after 55 minutes, when James steered the ball home from an unmarked position.
It wasn't until the last 15 minutes that Pelynt showed the necessary ambition to get back into the game but they did create a number of half chances on the break. The equaliser should have come when Malcolm Libby produced an air-shot six yards from an open goal before the ball broke to Ollie Whitling who blazed over.
