Both sides contrived to produce a hard fought encounter in what was a close game as indicated by the scoreline.

The deadlock was not broken until the 55th minute when Paul Tomkins ran onto a Mark Warwick throughball to finish, albeit at the second attempt after the young striker's initial effort had struck the upright, and give the visitors the lead.

Gunnislake doubles their advantage shortly afterwards when, after good work by Chris Adams, Tomkins played a neat one-two with Andy Wakeham before converting his second of the afternoon.

With 20 minutes remaining the home side halved the arrears with a goal from the penalty spot so maintaining the intensity of the competitiveness of this fixture. However, with no further goals scored Gunnislake claimed a 12th victory in this, their 15th match of the season to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

Camelford visit Gunnislake this Saturday for a league fixture, kick-off 2.30 pm.
