Despite an excellently prepared pitch, there was only ever going to be one winner of this match and that was the strong cross wind, which made good football very difficult.
The home team were the most impressive in the first half with their midfield controlling the centre of the park and Tideford forced to defend deeply. As a result very few scoring chances were created by either team and what few were created, were spurned.
The second half continued, much as the first half with Sticker still holding control in midfield, and early on they should have scored but on both occasions the final shot was off target. As the game progressed Tideford did become a little more adventurous, but they also made very little of the very few chances that came their way.
It was a game that both goalkeepers had very little to do apart from taking goalkicks and watching wayward shots go wide with the assistance of the swirling wind.
Overall a draw was a fair result from two middle of the table teams, which cancelled each other out for most of the 90 minutes. Tideford players however were guilty of giving the ball away far too frequently, and when either team did go on to the attack, they were often caught in possession or the final ball was wasted.
