Polperro got back into winning way with a comprehensive victory over Stoke Climsland. A young side, are starting to put things together now and are showing some potential.
In a swirling wind, Polperro took the game to their opponents but with the wind playing a big part they could not settle and took some time to create chances but could not convert them.
As the first half went on it looked as if it was not to be Polperro's day. However, from a corner on the half hour, Aarron Spry rose high to blast a header into the back of the net, to put Polperro 1-0 up. Polperro now started playing the ball around and were soon two up, again scored by Aarron Spry, after beating the defence to drive the ball into the net.
The second half was more even, with Stoke Climsland putting Polperro under pressure with break aways. However, Paul Hudson in the Polperro goal was up to everything that was thrown at him. Stoke Climsland had bad luck on more than one occasion before Arron Spry put the game beyond their reach, beating several defenders to put the ball into the net to complete his hat-trick.
This was an all round good game for Polperro, with Richard Chapman excelling at right back in the second half. A mention goes to Nigel Mark who marshalled the game well.
