St Teath remain top of division one after a thrilling encounter between two promotion hopefuls on Saturday.

The game started with both teams looking to gain the upper hand but neither side was able to and chances were few and far between. The Pensilva defence was coping comfortably with the opposition strike force while they themselves struggled to make an impact until Darren Worden slotted home a Stuart Timms cross. Still the home defence held firm until just before half time when a goalbound header was well saved by Dave Hicks only for the rebound to fall at the feet of the attacker.

The second half started with St. Teath dominating possession without creating any chances, while Pensilva looked to score on the break. The first goal of the half came from a free kick which was floated into the Pensilva penalty area where the unfortunate Chris Williams saw his attempted clearance sail into the top corner. The home side responded magnificently with an outstanding goal from Jamie Page who was returning from injury. As time began to run out St. Teath scored what proved to be the winner despite Pensilva's best efforts which saw them go close on a number of occasions late on.
