Boscastle were quickly into their game plan, but good defending by Darren Wooley and Adam Reid restricted chances. Hopeful long shots gave Stewert no problems. Callington slowly got their act together and created some good openings with Ruck and Walkinshaw going close. Boscastle took the lead direct from a free kick and when five minutes later Stewert went on walkabout Boscastle had a simple tap in to go 2-0 at half-time.
Twenty minutes into the second half and with Boscastle failing to clear, Hooper slid in Callington's first goal and the start of a fight back, which was inspired by Adam Burgoyne in midfiel. He dominated the midfield battles and when was joined in that area by Wakenshaw following M Reid's injury Callington took control and once Wakenshaw put them level direct from a free kick Boscastle were defending with desperation. With five minutes to go Ruck raced clear and with a new coolness to his game slid the ball into the net giving the keeper no chance.
Solid defending was now required by Callington and James Shorten at full back showed how to defend with some style. It was a bonus when Wakenshaw with the last kick of the game increased Callington's lead it was no more than they deserved.
