AS MORE businesses in South East Cornwall open up their doors to shoppers from today, volunteers in one town have been working around the clock to make sure it’s looking bright and welcoming.
’Liskeard Will Bloom’ is the new motto of the Liskeard in Bloom group. They began the task of clearing out boxes and troughs, weeding, and tidying up baskets and larger beds around a month ago, and have increased the tempo of their work this last week. Soil has been prepared, replanting has been done and many new tubs planted out of sight to be brought into the town centre.
This weekend was the culmination of their efforts – although there is always work to be done as they maintain and water the displays and think ahead to the next season, and the next project.
