Liskeard in Bloom committee is due to start planting for the year 2000 at the weekend, the plan for this year being to site a wide range of shrubs in town centre planters.
The scheme will also include aromatic and herbal plants around the seating areas to add extra interest.
Full summer planting will start on the first Sunday in June, which is when hanging baskets and shop displays will go out, and under planting of begonias will take place. The Bloomers say the begonias gave a brilliant display last year and have been stored over the winter. It is hoped that this year's colour scheme will link in with a Celtic Festival being organised by Stuart House in August.
The flower beds on the roundabouts are also to be renovated and planted up following the installation of Celtic crosses.
The annual Liskeard in Bloom competition is to be revamped for 2000, with the committee releasing details later in the year. Information about joining Liskeard in Bloom is available from the town hall.
