Ashtorre Rock Centre at Saltash's Waterside celebrated its 16th birthday with a week of events starting with a model railway exhibition. On St Piran's Day, the actual birthday, the flag of St Piran was hoisted and a birthday tea held. Andy Crawford, chairman, cut the birthday cake with Joan Truscott, founder member of the centre. A nostalgic quiz was organised by Chris Batters. On Tuesday, a tea dance was held and various other activities throughout the week ended with a musical evening with the Larrick Lads' Harmony Chorus. David Jordan on guitar and double bass, Mark Potts, on guitar, and singer Charlie Snooks also entertained during the evening with folk songs. Their accompanist on the keyboard was Darran Jane.
