Community fundraiser, Lynda Thomas is urging residents in Cornwall  to get together with family and friends and organise a ’Blooming Great Tea Party’ between June 20 and 29, or at a time convenient to them,  to raise funds for Marie Curie, the charity which provides care and support to people living with a terminal illness.

Lynda said: ’Marie Curie helps everyone affected by a terminal illness get the information and support they need. The charity provides a wealth of information for someone who is ill as well as family members and friends.

’The charity has a support line staffed by trained advisors who can provide emotional support and give trusted information on everything from day-to-day care to financial information and legal issues.  Marie Curie also has an online community where people can share experiences and find support by talking to people in a similar situation.

’What’s more, Marie Curie is the leader in research into better ways of caring for people with terminal illnesses and also campaigns on issues that affect people with a terminal illness and their families.

’Holding your own Blooming Great Tea Party is really easy to do. Whether you hold it at home, at work or somewhere locally it’s a fun way to get together with friends and support the vital work of Marie Curie.’
