Musicians have been presented with awards for their service to their town band.
At their recent Spring Concert in Callington Town Hall, several members of Callington Town Band were celebrated.
Annette Williams received a ’Founder Member’ badge as well as a ’Years of Service’ award, and Shirley Morse received a ’Years of Service’ award for 15 years with the band.
Bill Leith won the Betty and Dave Restall Memorial Shield as the ‘person who had done most for the band’ as well as a ’Years of Service’ award for his 15 years with them.
Linda Venning won the Attendance Cup and a ’Years of Service’ award for her 10 years.
Marion Veal won the Edward Woodward Memorial Shield for the main band player who had made the most progress in the year and Sara Gard (not in the picture) won the training band cup for the most improved player.
Callington Town Band rehearse each Thursday evening in the Heritage Centre Band Room, Liskeard Road, the training band from 6.15pm to 7.15pm, the main band from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. New members of all ages and abilities are always welcome.
