Martin lifts Cornwall Vets title
Martin Burley, the county selector and Lynda Beer - who both play for the Liskeard club - lifted the Cornwall Veterans singles titles at Pool School, near Redruth on Sunday.
The runners-up were Newquay's Colin Ransley and Rachael Oland of the Truro Club, respectively.
Cornish Chiefs defeat Celtic cousins
The Cornwall Badminton First String, sponsored by Frame Homes (South West) Ltd., Perranporth, defeated West Glamorgan, their Celtic cousins, by eight rubbers to seven at Swansea.
The Duchy Chiefs, in the final match of its 1999/200 campaign and with four playing reserves on board, reaped an invaluable two points, to the Host's one, in the process.
In the final analysis, this will equate, almost certainly, to a very creditable finish of third overall - behind Berkshire II and the champions, Hampshire III - in the competitive Inter-County Regional Division Three.
