The National Trust team behind Enchanted Saltram near Plymouth have announced the event will be closed today, Tuesday 10 December, due to weather conditions.

Jez McDermott, General Manager said: ‘Enchanted Saltram will be closed all day and evening on Tuesday 10 December due to extreme weather conditions and forecast winds gusting over 50mph.

’We are so sorry to have to make this announcement, but we can’t allow our visitors to dwell in amongst huge trees in these sort of conditions, it is simply not safe. We hope people will be able to change their plans to visit Saltram another time. We hope to reopen on Wednesday 11 December but advise visitors to check our website or Facebook page for updates before travelling.’

On Tuesday 10 December the stables area (including the café, shop and welcome centre) will be the only part of Saltram open from 10am-4pm.
