A FESTIVAL of events for all ages has been bringing people together in Liskeard.

Augustfest, organised by the Liskeard Methodist Circuit, kicked off with a family activity day, a children’s disco and community songs of praise.

Augusfest events for the rest of the month include a Cornish cookery demonstration (Tuesday August 15), and an illustrated talk on ‘Historic Tales of Liskeard’ (Thursday August 17).

The Methodist Church’s annual Flower Show also forms part of the programme and will run from Friday August 18 - Sunday August 20.

The final week of the festival will include a talk on Du Maurier’s Cornwall (August 22), a Toy and Model Day (August 23), and a Kid’s Activity Day (August 24), packed with free workshops in percussion, singing, dance and drama (booking required - call 07821270021).
