More than 70 youngsters enjoyed dancing, drumming and more at an event hosted by Looe Community Academy.

The Performing Arts Festival has now run for two years, and involves students on the Btec Arts courses delivering workshops in Dance, Drama and Music to pupils from the primary feeder schools in the area.

The younger children from Duloe, Trenode, Looe Primary and Polperro also enjoyed watching a performance by the senior students.

‘We see such strength and energy from all the primary pupils involved,’ said Dance teacher Sam Day.

‘There is also a real focus and commitment from the Academy’s talented performing arts students when delivering their workshops; they really do try to be the best they can be.’

The festival also gives the Year 6 pupils to meet some of their future classmates for the first time before moving up to the ‘big school’ in September.
