Artists at Maker Heights on the Rame Peninsula will be opening their studios to the public during a Christmas exhibition this weekend.
The Maker Artists Collective includes visual artists working in the historic Barracks building, and in the Awenek Studios, situated in renovated Nissen Huts on the site.
‘The artists involved in the event will have their studio doors open for the public to visit, view and chat,’ said Helen Manley, who is taking part in the event. Although Helen is better known as a musician in the band Black Friday, she will be exhibiting landscapes and seascapes in acrylic.
Rosie French will be showing her abstract oil works, and over in the Barrack block, there will be the chance to see mural artist SWolf Chan, Mervyn Beaver, Paul Cain Smith, and Nicola Happy Hutchinson at work.
As part of the event Awenek will be hosting a number of small craft workshops, including all day Christmas crafts and needle felting.
The event runs from 10am-4pm tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday.
