THIS painting by Brian Wilson was the first to sell at the recent open art exhibition at Stuart House. The Max Lock Gallery was a perfect setting for the exhibition, which had a theme of 'The Sea' as it was concurrent with the anniversary celebrations of the Battle of Trafalgar. At the same time, and still on show, was the exhibition of the journey of Lapontiere bringing the news of the triumph to the king in London from Falmouth, re-enacted recently with the post-chaise carriage and horses travelling through Liskeard. Other work at the art exhibition included two sculptures by Sarah King. Artists are invited to exhibit in the next open art exhibition which runs from October 3-15.
