This will be the archbishop's first pastoral visit to a diocese since his enthronement in Canterbury Cathedral in March. As the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury, he is the spiritual leader of 80 million Anglicans around the world.
The archbishop will be at St Martin's Church to preside at a service of holy communion at 10am on Sunday, November 17. He is to be accompanied by the Bishop of Truro, the Rt Rev Timothy Thornton, and the Bishop of St Germans, the Rt Rev Christopher Goldsmith.
After the service, the archbishop will be joined by invited guests for a buffet lunch at the Eliot House Hotel, where he will have the opportunity to talk to representatives from local churches.
Canon Tony Ingleby, priest-in-charge at Liskeard and St Keyne, said: 'We are honoured and delighted to have the archbishop to visit our church to preach, to lead our worship and to talk with many folk from our church and from the town.'
