AN appeal has been lodged after Caradon District Council refused permission to build a detached house and demolish an existing garage. The Department of the Environment received the appeal over land at 12, Addington South, Callington Road, Liskeard, on January 24. The matter now looks set to be considered by the Secretary of State. The plan was refused by the council because of the proposed dwelling's size, siting and orientation. It was also said to be in close proximity to existing properties and would provide an unsatisfactory form of residential accommodation. Anyone wanting to make representations about the plan can submit three copies of their views to the Planning Inspectorate, Department of the Environment, Room 3/19A, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN quoting reference number APP/KO805/A/06/2006621. A copy of the appeal form, specifying the grounds of appeal together with associated documents, is available at Caradon District Council's planning department at Luxstowe House, Liskeard, between 8.30am to 1.30pm, Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.
