An appeal has been lodged in an effort to retain wooden decking erected at the rear of a property in Looe without planning permission. Mrs J Biers has appealed to the Department of the Environment over her application to retain the decking installed at Shutta Lodge, Shutta, Looe. Caradon District Council rejected her retrospective application for planning consent in March this year saying the siting, scale, design and use of the inappropriate materials represented a dominant and incongruous form of development which detracted from the open, landscaped appearance of the site. The appeal is to be dealt with by means of written representations. Plans, documents and copies of the appellant's grounds of appeal can be inspected at Caradon's planning department, Luxstowe House, Liskeard, between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
