I SHOULD like to make a few points regarding the general state of the roads in the Looe shopping area. I went to Looe today at 6.15am as I do almost every day and was appalled and indeed saddened by the litter which had been deposited by our seagull population rummaging through the black bags which had been deposited outside the various premises in the town. There is I believe an excellent remedy to prevent this happening and also cutting down the three hours I believe our roadsweeper takes to clear up every morning. The black bags should be kept in the premises after the shop closes at night or early evening. The roadsweeper makes his collection starting at the bridge at about 8.30am. He could probably do the round in an hour and thus have very little mess to clear up except for the litter deposited by us. There has been several posters put up in the shop windows telling people not to feed the seagulls and we are doing just that. Looe is a lovely town and let's keep it that way please. By the way, if anyone puts one's rubbish out early, impose a penalty as is done by several councils.
