Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Young Company and Young Company Hubs return on tour to the organisation’s Hub locations, including Saltash.net Community School, with a new play, Zero for the Young Dudes.

The Young Company Hubs are weekly dance and drama workshops for young people who are not able to access the Theatre’s Young Company activity at Theatre Royal Plymouth’s production and learning centre, TR2. Instead, the sessions take place in community settings.

There are four locations in Saltash, Stonehouse, St Budeaux and Honicknowle. Seven sessions are run each week in the Hubs with around 140 young people each year.

The Hubs seek to increase confidence, self-esteem and aspiration for the young people involved and allow the Theatre to reach new audiences.

Young people taking part have the opportunity to complete Bronze Arts Awards and many go on to get involved in further projects at the Theatre including Young Company productions in The Drum.

Zero for the Young Dudes is described as ’a brutal and thrilling new work’ by Alistair McDowell that has been described as The Hunger Games meets Lord of the Flies.

It’s at Saltash.net on March 9. Tickets at £4 can be booked online on 01752 267222 or contacting the School’s reception.
