Teams of swimmers are gearing up for some friendly competition at the British Heart Foundation Swimathon tomorrow (Saturday November 24).

The sponsored relay event at Liskeard’s Lux Park is open to people of all ages and has become a fixture in the calendar for many local groups.

Swimmers are set to take to the water at 3.25pm and spectators are encouraged to support the teams taking part.

Liskeard’s British Heart Foundation has raised more than £34,000 in the past year and the popular Swimathon is just one of the committee’s events.

Last year, swimmers taking part in the relay brought in more than £3120 for the BHF, as well as an additional £1130 for their own nominated charities.
