Some of the best horticulturists in the land will be providing a wealth of colour and variety within the flower show at the Royal Cornwall Show tomorrow.

The number of trade exhibitors heading to Wadebridge is up this year, says flower show chairman Kenneth Willcock, who lives near Liskeard.

‘We have an extra eight trade exhibitors participating this year, some who are making their first appearance, some are returning after an absence of a few years.’

Five award-winning exhibitors from this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show will be competing at the Royal Cornwall.

Meanwhile, the main ring entertainment at this year’s show includes Atkinson Action Horses, who have spent many months in the county filming for the Poldark television series. The stunt team’s performances will include moves normally reserved for the television and cinema screens.

The horse that plays Ross Poldark’s trusted steed Darkie will also be at the show. Seamus will swap galloping across the clifftops with actor Aidan Turner for meeting and greeting visitors to the show which takes place from tomorrow to Saturday, June 9 to 11.
