HOME-MADE vessels of all shapes, sizes and states of seaworthiness will make a colourful spectacle on the Looe River today as the town holds its annual raft race.
Hundreds of spectators will cram onto the quaysides for the fun event which sees teams of adults and children try to beat each other on a course up the river.
Registration for the race can be done up until an hour before the event, which is set to start at 2.30pm.
Safety cover will be provided on the water, and participants must wear buoyancy aids while taking part.
The Cornish Times is again sponsoring the trophies which will be given for first, second and third in each class, with a shield for the best fancy dress and the most sponsorship.
Various prizes have also been donated by businesses in Looe.
We’ll have pictures from the event in the new print edition of the Cornish Times, on sale on Friday.
