It’s all aboard at Wildflower Cottage in Rose when their garden opens for Cornwall Wildlife Trust on Sunday, June 12, with a steam railway linking the entire garden and woodland attractions, and a walk-through aviary.

Three trains will be running on the day taking visitors on the quarter mile track through the lush gardens and woodland, while the 55ft by 20ft aviary has seating and houses ornamental ducks and free flying birds.

A walk winds through the woodland area and wild ducks can often be found in the large pond. A waterfall links a further seven small ponds down to the house, the perfect home for wildlife.

There is an interesting cob house and tropical planting at the front of the house. In fact despite the garden being less than two acres in size there is an awful lot to see. The garden will be open from 2pm to 5pm and refreshments will be available.

This is the first time Wildflower Cottage has opened for the Trust and is one of six new gardens, along with regulars, where special fundraising days are being held during 2016.
