Cornwall Air Ambulance rescues are to feature on television again.

The Countryside 999 series starts once more on BBC One on Monday at 11am and will show the crews of the air ambulance as they respond to emergency calls around the county.

The fly-on-the-wall documentary highlights the diverse range of missions the air ambulance is tasked to, involving patients of all ages, from babies to the elderly.

The emergencies range from a baby in respiratory distress to a woman kicked by a horse.

Emergencies

The Cornwall Air Ambulance featured in the previous series of the programme which was screened last year.

The latest series was filmed last summer by specially-trained onboard cameramen and miniature cameras mounted in the aircraft and worn by crews.

Air ambulance spokesman Tom Matthews said: 'We're so proud once again to be able to show our supporters just what their donations make possible.

'Every day our crews respond to emergencies across the county, working alongside colleagues from the other emergency services to ensure that when the worst happens, people get the best possible care, fast. In our case, as a charity, that is only possible thanks to the support of the public.

'To be able to show our supporters the difference this charity makes to people's lives is so vital.

'We're especially grateful to the patients featured – and their families – for allowing their stories to be used in the series.'
