If you're lucky enough to have gained a place in the 2000 Flora London Marathon and have yet to decide which charity you want to run for, why not choose Age Concern and help those older people most in need?
Through a network of over 1,400 local organisations and with the help of around 250,000 dedicated volunteers, Age Concern provides services and care for older people around the country whatever their age of circumstances. Next year Age Concern celebrates its sixtieth anniversary and older people need our help more than ever - so whatever your age, 18 or 80, we want you to run for our team!
Age Concern offers many benefits to all its runners, including a training day in London to help you get into tip top shape for the big day. You will also receive regular newsletters with training and fundraising tips, together with healthy recipes to get you into good shape.
Age Concern has its own support team dedicated to making sure your Marathon goes without hitch, and there are fantastic prizes to be won for those runners who raise over £1,000. More importantly, there will be a post race reception for runners and their supporters to recuperate and enjoy a well earned massage!
We urgently need funds to help us in our vital work for and on behalf of older people so why not ring Lucy on 020 8765 7603 and ask for a Marathon Information Pack.
