A show garden designed by Eden Project apprentices to evoke the abundant underwater life of estuaries is among the exhibits at the Cornwall Garden Society Spring Flower Show next weekend (April 1- 2).

The garden, called ’Go Against the Tide’, is the work of horticultural apprentices Jorin Lenz-Williams, Sean Paramore and Hope Browne under the supervision of Eden horticulturists Emma Gunn and Riyah Snow, herself a former Eden apprentice.

It will feature plants chosen to mimic aquatic life, including succulents to represent anemones. It will also boast striking silver fish sculptures swimming through the garden and a sunken boat – creating the perfect habitat for underwater plants and animals.

The show takes place at the Boconnoc Estate near Lostwithiel.

The 106th Cornwall Garden Society Spring Flower Show is the South West’s first major flower show of the horticultural year, attracting more than 6,000 garden enthusiasts over its two days.

Don’t forget you can win tickets to the show in our competition in this week’s print edition of the Cornish Times.
