A LISKEARD sixth form pupil will be taking her acting talents to China next month. Tegen Hitchens from Menheniot will be performing in front of one of her largest audiences when she takes the part of the Governor's Wife in Caucasian Chalk Circle. An audience of around 3,000 people will see Tegen perform in Beijing. Tegen, 17, hopes to follow a career in acting once she finishes her A-levels and already has a great deal of experience in performing. Last year she travelled to Ghana to spend time performing. The trip to China will be no different, and will involve a busy itinerary of performances with the International Footprint company. Tegen won a place on the trip after impressing judges in an audition at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth, where she regularly performs. The youngster will join seven boys and four girls on the trip when she leaves for China on April 20.
