INVENTIVE folk singer Sam Lee will be performing live at the St Petroc’s Sessions in Bodmin next month.

The concert inside Cornwall’s largest church is part of a tour for the release of his new album ‘Old Wow’.

Dubbed ‘the Extinction Rebellion musician’, Mercury Prize-nominated Sam Lee continues to play a unique role in the British music scene: he’s a passionate conservationist, a folk song interpreter and committed song collector.

After winning Best Traditional Track at the BBC Radio Two Folk Awards, Sam appeared at the Royal Albert Hall. He’s also performed on the BBC’s ‘Later With Jools Holland’, NPR’s Tiny Desk concert, and with the BBC’s Symphony Orchestra at the Proms.

Perhaps though, Sam reached his largest audience with The Devil and The Huntsman, his song from Guy Ritchie’s film, ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’.

The St Petroc’s Sessions is a series of concerts that have the aim of placing Bodmin at the heart of cultural life in Cornwall, and have been organised by IntoBodmin and Cabaret Voltaire, which was named “Exeter’s cutting edge dance music night” by The Guardian. IntoBodmin actively promotes Bodmin as an attractive and progressive town.

Sam Lee and his band will be at St Petroc’s Church Bodmin on Friday Feb 7. Tickets are available at IntoBodmin.co.uk
