AN animal charity is hoping new owners can be found for kittens which have been abandoned.

Little Brunel (pictured) was just five weeks old when he and his mother Bella were found fending for themselves. The pair are being looked after by the South East Cornwall Cats Protection League (CPL) and would love a home.

Two more kittens which were abandoned in a car park near Saltash are also ready to be rehomed. Salt and Pepper, both aged five months, were found near the China Fleet Club. They are among the many unwanted animals in desperate need of a permanent home, said Esther Ardagh-Ptolomey of the local branch, which covers the Torpoint, Saltash, Liskeard and Looe area.

‘We have some really lovely cats in our care with so much to give a new owner,’ said Esther. ‘We have cats that would suit all sorts of homes, from families to retired couples, and we’re really hoping to hear from more people this month who would like to welcome a cat into their lives.’

The Cats Protection League is also keen to hear from people willing to be volunteers.

‘Our branch is run entirely by volunteers and without them we simply couldn’t help so many cats,’ Esther added.
