Hundreds of people turned out to support the annual Saltash Regatta featuring the Black Prince Pageant and Waterside Festival.
Brilliant sunshine and plenty of entertainment provided an excellent atmosphere for this year's event which started with the traditional parade from Victoria Gardens.
A colourful re-enactment of the 1938 pageant took place once the parade reached Saltash Waterside where the Black Prince (Saltash town crier Brian Whipp) granted the rights of free ferry passage across the Tamar to Saltash mayor Adam Killeya, after which Michael Taylor from Radio Cornwall officially declared the 2010 Saltash Regatta open.
Championship gig racing commenced, sponsored by Ginsters, which included teams who had travelled from as far away as Weymouth to compete, while at Ashtorre Rock the Five Towns Challenge Cutter Race got under way.
