LAST week the Rame Peninsula Male Voice Choir said a big thank you to Pauline Turpitt who has been their loyal piano accompanist for the last 13 years. Pauline has helped the choir represent the good name of Cornwall throughout much of the UK, and overseas in Germany, Ireland, France, and Wales. She was presented with a crystal vase by the choir's president John Woodfield, in gratitude for her dedication to the choir. Brett Musser, musical director, said: 'Pauline has been a very talented and versatile pianist with a very special gift for accompanying. The many top local soloists that Pauline has performed with over the years with the choir have often verified this. 'The choir's main activities lie at home in the south-west, where Pauline has performed in countless concerts in aid of numerous worthy charities. The last few concerts have been in aid of the Boscastle and North Cornwall Flood Appeal, for which a total of £3,500 was raised, sometimes in company with other fine local choirs.' The Rame Peninsula Choir represents all walks of life in the community including farmers, fishermen, coach drivers, caterers, publicans, engineers, solicitors, teachers, sailors, and the choir credit Pauline for helping them to become one of Cornwall's premier choirs. They are always on the lookout for new members to join them, and the new accompanist, Liz Sidebotham, promises to keep the choir on their toes!
