The Cornish Winter Fair will be held at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge, today (Saturday), from 10am to 5pm.

Billed as a winter celebration of the very best of Cornish farming, food, drink and crafts, the event is set to offer something to appeal to the whole family.

It will host the competitive elements of the Wadebridge Prime Stock Show which includes everything from livestock showing and produce to arts, floristry and cookery.

The show has been part of local life for 137 years. Entries for the usual myriad of classes has surged, with double the number of cattle and sheep due to compete.

Visitors can get up close to and learn more about a range of farm animals and poultry, and a programme of cookery, floristry and craft demonstrations will take place throughout the day.

More than 20 Cornish food and drink producers will offer the chance to try and buy their delicious fare.

They will be joined by more than 30 local crafts people selling their unique creations. In addition there will be trade stands from a range of other local firms and organisations.

Entry is free.
