I am a Dutch schoolboy aged 14 and I live Oosterbeek. In the area where I live, there has been a big battle in the second world war, the battle of Arnhem. Every year in September the soldiers who fought at Arnhem come over to commemorate their lost friends. Now, when most of the 'heroes' are dead, their families come over.

In Oosterbeek you can find many houses, railway bridges and people who can tell you what happened 56 years ago, but for collectors and other people who research the Arnhem Battle, the veterans are the most important.

I am a collector and I have compiled a book with stories of the veterans and some civilians, the book is called 'Over & Over'. It means that the soldiers came over to England in 1944 to fight for our freedom, and then later came over again to commemorate. The reason I am writing this letter is, this year before September I am publishing an English version of the book 'Over & Over' so that the children and great grand children of the heroes of September 1944 can read this book, and also the veterans themselves. In the Netherlands I have had 2000 books published and in three months sold them all.

Another reason is that I want to speak with other veterans who can help me with research into the Arnhem battle. At present I am specialising in the 11th BN the Parachute Regiment, but as a collector of everything about Arnhem 1944 and British army clothes, everything is welcome.
