SPECIALIST rescuers went to the aid of a women stuck in flood waters yesterday morning.

Water rescue crews from St Austell and firefighters from Mevagissey found the woman stuck in her vehicle in shallow flood water at Polmassick. The teams pushed the vehicle to safety.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue warned drivers not to attempt to drive through flooded roads or fords. ‘The water is often deeper than it looks and may be moving quite fast,’ said a spokesman. ‘Your vehicle may be swept away or become stranded’.
