Liskeard Community Fire Service are again urging people to check their white goods are not subject to a recall after they dealt with a washing machine fire at a local home.
An estimated 5.3 million dryers made by Whirlpool between April 2004 and September 2015 were subject to a recall four years ago, following 750 fires in 11 years, but it is thought up to 500,000 could still be in use.

Anyone with an affected dryer that has not been modified should unplug it and not use it until the modification has been completed.
