A TWO-year-old child is fighting for his life in hospital after a road accident this afternoon.
Police, ambulance and fire were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A390 at Callington at noon.
The head-on collision involved a Peugeot Boxer van and a Peugeot 206.
Police describe the toddler’s head injury as ’potentially life-threatening’.
He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital for initial treatment and is expected to be transferred to specialist hospital in Bristol, along with his family.
The road was closed to allow the Serious Collisions Unit to undertake scene investigation work.
