St Ives RNLI lifeboat crew were paged on Monday (May 30) to help a yacht which had lost power.

St Ives’ Shannon class lifeboat Nora Stachura launched at 5.30pm to assist the yacht which was in difficulty off Gurnards Head.

As it was a single fin boat, the decision was made to put her under tow to Newlyn Harbour rather than St Ives. Crew members from St Ives boarded the boat to set up a towline, before commencing the tow.

Penlee RNLI relief lifeboat Osier launched from Newlyn to assist the crew of Nora Stachura near Land’s End. The crew of Penlee RNLI continued the tow into Newlyn.
