TEN bikes valued at £11,000 were stolen from Callington Cycles in the early hours of Sunday after thieves smashed a window to get into the shop in Fore Street.

A police spokesperson said they received a call at 3.45am and arrived at the premises to find ‘bikes all over the place’. The shop was boarded up and made safe.

The shop owner, who is appealing for witnesses on his business Facebook page, said the thieves took his best bikes, but he remains open for trade.

Items stolen were three Forme Longcliffe road bikes (2.0, 3.0 and 4.0); a Forme Airport 300 Mountain Bike; a Forme Flash Ltd edition road bike; a Forme ATT 1.0 triathlon bike; a Claude Butler Torino road bike; a Claude Butler Alpina mountain bike; a Claude Butler Trailridge mountain bike; and a Mongoose Tyax mountain bike.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen something suspicious, has information, or is offered any of the bikes for sale, is asked to contact Callington police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
