Callington’s Police Community Management Officer (PCMO) will continue to work in the town for an extra three months.

Vashti Pearce is PCMO for the Launceston, Callington, Bude and Camelford neighbourhood area, a role created as part of a pilot scheme developed by Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer.

Ms Pearce said she had been focusing on helping to prevent financial crimes such as postal and telephone scams which target the elderly and vulnerable.

At a meeting of Callington Town Council, Ms Pearce said the extra time would enable her to build on local projects with Councillor Tagg, who has reintroduced Neighbourhood Watch in an area of the town.
