Police say they are now ’very concerned’ for 84-year-old Derek Dilworth, who has been missing since Friday evening from his home near Darley Ford.

Officers and Cornwall Search and Rescue teams are out again this morning looking for Derek, who suffers from dementia.

They spent all day yesterday in appalling weather looking for him.

Police say Derek is quite a fit and healthy man but does suffer with severe dementia, although this might not be obvious when seen.  

He was last seen by his wife just before 5pm on Friday.

Derek is 5ft 11ins tall, of average build and bald on top. He was last seen wearing a light beige short jacket, grey trousers and brown shoes. He does not have anything to identify him with him. 

Police are asking people to check all outbuildings, gardens and vehicles for him. 

It is possible that he was picked up by a member of the public on Friday between 4pm and 6pm on the B3254 between Pensilva and Darley Ford stables.
