Liskeard Police have received reports of a scam going around.

Members of the public have been contacted by phone from a person claiming to be from The UK claims advisory group who indicates the person being called is due over £3000.

They say that a cheque will be hand delivered but, in return, the recipient needs to show them Amazon vouchers to the value of £200 which are the "fee" for tracing the money owed.

But those taking advantage of the ’offer’ will soon find out that the cheque will not clear. The inspection enables the scammer to note down the voucher numbers which will be redeemed the same day of the first visit.
